Range Safety Officer Job Opening

Range Safety Officer (RSO) Part time $15.00 an hour

Rainbow Range  Shooting Club-Fallbrook Ca.

Rainbow is a 6 acre, private outdoor Shooting Range located on the I-15 corridor of N. San Diego County, dedicated to providing a safe, clean Shooting Sports environment for our Members and their Guests.

Job Summary:
Rainbow’s R.S.O.’s primary duties are to organize, conduct and supervise, safe shooting activities and Range operations for all shooters, at all times, and will perform maintenance operations related to all Range’s.

Essential Functions:

  • S.O. will provide Range Orientation and Safety Tours for new members.
  • Ensure that the entire facility and all operations are maintained at the highest standards.
  • Immediately analyze, predict, and preclude unsafe situations to ensure shooting is conducted in a safe and responsible manner. Have the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Communicate in a professional and courteous manner with everyone.
  • Keep Range sanitary and clean, empty trash cans, turn in all used brass and other shell casings at the end of each day.
  • Able to perform basic office duties and retail sales including: sign up of new, renewal members and their guests, sales of ammo, targets and related accessories and all paper work associated with such.
  • Must be able to balance daily sales and cash receipts at the end of each day.
  • Maintain all Range’s and Target equipment for safe operation.
  • Pursue goal of ensuring that every member and guest has a rewarding and satisfying experience at Rainbow Range Shooting Club.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

NRA- Range Safety Officer (R.S.O.) certification.

1+ year experience as military, police, or private sector firearms trainer highly preferred.

 

Other Qualifications:

Must be at least 21 years of age. Must be legally able to possess a firearm. Proven ability to engage guests and deliver unparalleled service every day. Have a positive, attitude and enjoy meeting and interacting with Members and Guests. Have expert knowledge of safety standards for Firearms and Ranges. Ability to communicate, both verbally and written, clearly and concisely in English. Strong knowledge of firearms is highly preferred. Able to freely access all areas of the Range, by constantly standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and climbing a ladder; able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. Maintain a well groomed professional appearance. Highly self motivated /able to work without direction. Work cooperatively with all staff to achieve Rainbow Shooting Clubs Goals and Objectives.
